Mechanical – BIM Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop, revise, and manage both 2D and 3D mechanical drawings utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.

• Convert sketches, redlines, engineering annotations, and design feedback into precise drawing outputs.

• Create plans, elevations, sections, details, equipment layouts, and mechanical coordination views.

• Draft mechanical systems, including piping layouts, equipment configurations, supports, and routing concepts.

• Assist with BIM model updates and coordination across mechanical, electrical, structural, and architectural disciplines.

• Ensure drawing quality by adhering to standards, layering, annotations, title blocks, revision history, and sheet organization.

• Amend drawings based on project evaluations, vendor changes, and internal design modifications.

• Systematically organize project files, model content, drawing sets, and standards in a structured manner.

• Contribute to the maintenance of drafting libraries, standard details, templates, and Revit families/AutoCAD blocks.

• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to guarantee that drawings align with current design intent.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience in mechanical drafting, design assistance, or BIM modeling.

• High level of proficiency in AutoCAD.

• Working knowledge of Revit for drafting and model-based production.

• Strong grasp of drafting principles, sheet configuration, dimensions, annotations, detailing, and drawing standards.

• Capability to read and interpret engineering annotations and transform them into precise drawing packages.

• Exceptional attention to detail with effective document control and file organization skills.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and evolving design inputs.

• Proficient in taking direction, executing tasks consistently, and asking insightful questions when design intent is not clear.

• Strong communication skills coupled with a robust production mindset.
