This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The MBSAQIP Data Abstractor (SCDS - Senior Clinical Data Specialist) provides high-quality solutions to healthcare partners nationwide.
• Each engagement with a hospital is viewed as a chance to leverage clinical expertise to enhance patient outcomes and contribute to research.
• Utilize specialized clinical knowledge of hospital partners to categorize, code, summarize, interpret, and calculate registry or case information from detailed patient medical records.
• Ensure the accurate submission of all data in designated registries or measure data repositories, adhering to a stringent accuracy standard.
• Effectively prioritize, organize, and meet tight deadlines for various simultaneous tasks and team requests; exercise discretion and judgment to manage expectations, identify challenges, and propose timely solutions.
• Navigate new technical systems, including electronic medical records (EMR) and registry/case entry tools; leverage team resources to address technical issues with a solution-oriented approach.
• Contribute to the development of team best practices, data dictionaries, abstraction guidelines, and other business rule documents; identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency.
• Stay informed on mandated regulatory and publicly reported data requirements as outlined by federal, state, payer, and other agencies.
• Must possess direct clinical data abstraction experience within the last year.
• Hold an active MBSCR certification.
• Familiarity with various patient medical record systems (EMRs) and clinical databases.
• Intermediate level of proficiency in MS Office (Microsoft Excel).
