This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Recognize trends that may hinder academic success.
• Perform targeted outreach and deliver instruction to specific groups and individuals.
• Foster capable learners who are confident in their academic and life abilities.
• Employ university and departmental procedures and materials to mentor and educate students.
• Acquire and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum and assignments that students are working on each week.
• Utilize subject matter expertise to address student inquiries and concerns regarding course content and assignments in a timely manner.
• Act as the facilitator of the learning process by providing support through posts/announcements, emails, occasional one-on-one virtual meetings, and videos.
• Regularly communicate with students about their engagement and performance, while conducting outreach efforts to ensure effective instruction and mentorship throughout the course.
• Establish authentic and meaningful relationships with all students through consistent communication across approved channels.
• Utilize department-created and curated training materials, procedures, and systems to design and implement suitable class-wide, group-wide, and individual outreach plans based on student trends and needs.
• Demonstrate consistent and prompt responsiveness to students who engage with targeted outreach.
• Maintain records of communication histories and significant interactions with students, while scheduling follow-ups at appropriate intervals.
• Occasionally participate in training exercises and/or training meetings to receive further guidance and feedback.
• Integrate feedback received through training and evaluation to enhance performance.
• Proficiency in both English and Portuguese (mandatory).
• Strong understanding of and commitment to the mission, defining characteristics, and student population of BYU Pathway Worldwide.
• Ability to adapt to new processes, procedures, and technologies.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills: professional, respectful, and impartial in sensitive situations.
• Demonstrated reliability and capability to meet deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, video conferencing, and discipline-specific software.
• Experience in online teaching/learning, particularly with at-risk learners (preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields.
• A master's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Experience in online and/or classroom teaching in Mathematics.
• Relevant professional experience in a related field (desired).
• Mandatory attendance at periodic team meetings (as determined by the department).
