Math Teacher, Middle & High School, Part-Time

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

📋 Description

• Deliver scheduled live math lessons through the school's LMS using Zoom, primarily during morning hours (e.g., 9:00–2:00 p.m.), with flexible time allocated for small-group or one-on-one support.

• Make math engaging by incorporating real-world problems, puzzles, games, and interactive digital tools (such as Desmos, BussMath, Kahoot, GeoGebra) to ignite curiosity instead of anxiety.

• Adjust pacing and instructional delivery across topics including algebra, geometry, statistics, and pre-calculus/calculus, while ensuring that lessons remain enjoyable and student-centered.

• Utilize LMS features (assignments, quizzes, analytics, discussions) to track student engagement and provide timely, actionable feedback.

• Create lessons for whole groups, small groups, and individuals that foster genuine number sense and build confidence in problem-solving.

• Explore new digital tools that encourage active learning, gamified practice, and creative exploration of math.

• Complete grading promptly and communicate student progress with both students and their families.

• Establish strong relationships with students through consistent and supportive communication.

• Conduct orientation sessions to help students understand what to expect and feel motivated from the very beginning.

• Assist students in overcoming math anxiety by framing mistakes as part of the learning process rather than something to fear.

• Analyze LMS data to identify students who may require reteaching, enrichment, or additional challenges.

• Provide scaffolded instruction and differentiated practice to cater to diverse learning needs.

• Monitor attendance and engagement, promptly following up if a student begins to fall behind.

• Maintain accurate and timely records of attendance, grades, communication, and interventions within the LMS.

• Contribute to Personal Learning Plans that outline individual goals and accommodations.

• Regularly communicate with students regarding their progress, attendance, and milestones.

• Collaborate with other teachers, advisors, and support staff for students with varied academic and social requirements.

• Share innovative math strategies and engagement techniques with colleagues.

• Participate in team meetings and professional development focused on enhancing online math instruction.

• Support occasional virtual or in-person information sessions, family events, or STEM/math community activities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree or higher is required; degrees in Education, Mathematics, or related fields are strongly preferred.

• Candidates actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in a math-related field are encouraged to apply.

• Experience teaching math at the middle or high school levels is essential.

• Comfortable using LMS platforms (such as Canvas, Schoology, Google Classroom, or similar) for instruction and grading.

• Strong proficiency in English and excellent communication skills for engaging with international students and their families.

• Familiarity with digital tools such as video conferencing, collaborative whiteboards, and interactive math applications.

• A talent for making math enjoyable, relevant, and less intimidating.

• Outstanding organizational skills and the capability to manage a part-time online teaching schedule effectively.

• Professional demeanor, flexibility, and the ability to work independently from a remote, distraction-free environment.

• A reliable high-speed internet connection is mandatory.
