Math Associate Instructor, 9th - 11th Grade

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Carolina.

📋 Description

• Collaborate to teach three to four Math classes and take the lead in classes when substituting for another educator.

• Adhere to lesson plans while striving to achieve high standards for instruction and student engagement.

• Utilize Brightspace, Nearpod, G Suite applications, and Zoom chat within a blended learning framework.

• Thoroughly read, understand, and implement lesson plans and materials provided by SEO.

• Modify pacing and activities according to the needs of students.

• Conduct open-door lunch tutoring sessions for Scholars.

• Foster a dynamic, engaging, and approachable classroom environment.

• Participate in scheduled meetings, professional development sessions, check-ins, and debriefings.

• Promptly respond to emails and Zoom chats.

• Meet with the designated instructional coach at least twice during the semester and apply the feedback received.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Teaching certification, experience teaching in K-12 classrooms, and/or experience at the college or university level.

• A reliable personal laptop that meets the essential technology specifications.

• Experience working with high school students.

• Proficient in navigating technological educational systems.

• Strong expertise in advanced high school-level Math subjects.

• Willingness to engage in discussions regarding the historical and ongoing causes of societal issues and challenges.

• Preferred understanding and application of student-centered teaching methods.

• Familiarity with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is preferred.

• Preferred certifications, completion of professional development courses, and/or higher education in Instructional Technologies.
