This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Take charge of how Sumble presents itself to the world, including the strategic narrative, editorial voice, deliverables, and social media presence that builds momentum.
• You will have complete strategic authority, stakeholder influence, and an actual budget for tools and external resources.
• Establish what Sumble sounds like, how we narrate our story, and the content we create across essential formats: long-form writing, organic social media, founder-voice updates, advertising creative, sales support, and branding.
• Create a voice guide, outline tone dos and don'ts, and establish stylistic conventions that can be applied across all channels and contributors, both internal and external.
• Develop and maintain Sumble's strategic narrative, which explains the core issues with GTM data, what we have created, and the potential outcomes when teams have access to unique signals.
• Collaborate with the founders and Head of Marketing to refine the narrative as the company and market change.
• Organize the editorial calendar, write the posts, and establish a rhythm that attracts attention without relying on paid promotions.
• Comfortably navigate various formats: from long-form essays and market analyses to concise social media posts and advertising copy, covering the spectrum in between.
• Monitor the effectiveness of content by channel and piece. Identify which content generates pipeline, enhances brand presence, and which does not, making necessary adjustments.
• Utilize Sumble's own data and platform signals to create exclusive content: data breakdowns, market maps, hiring signal reports, and technology adoption trends.
• A minimum of 7 years in B2B content creation, preferably within GTM technology such as sales technology, data infrastructure, RevOps platforms, or similar fields where you've crafted content for GTM buyers (CROs, RevOps, sales leaders, marketing ops). You understand the personas and what they engage with.
• Proficient in both long-form and short-form writing, with the discernment to recognize that they require different skills.
• Experience in defining a brand voice. Additional credit if you have transformed a B2B SaaS brand from a "corporate default" to one with genuine personality. We are eager to hear about your approach.
• A sales-driven mindset. You have collaborated closely with sales teams, participated in their calls, understood their objections, and created content that has effectively advanced deals. You are not motivated by brand for brand's sake.
• Exceptionally data-curious. You are genuinely enthusiastic about uncovering stories hidden within datasets. You will be working with raw platform signals as source material, and comfort with this is essential.
• A Super IC operating style. You have either built or led a content function from the ground up, you prioritize effectively, make editorial choices independently, and you prefer depth in individual contributor roles over management tracks (or wish to do so).
• Proven fluency with AI in actual production processes. Not just using tools like ChatGPT for drafting outlines, but providing concrete examples of how you've produced work more efficiently, effectively, or innovatively with your AI stack. You understand how to collaborate with AI to enhance your voice rather than diminish it.
• Skilled at managing consultants and agencies. You know when to engage external specialists (such as brand consultants, SEO experts, design partners, video producers, freelance writers) to enhance output and access expertise not available in-house. You have managed external resources before and have insights on effective management.
• Proficient in ghostwriting. You can seamlessly adopt a founder's voice and create LinkedIn posts that sound authentic to them, not to you.
• Well-versed in the standard B2B content stack (CMS tools, SEO/AEO tools, analytics) and adaptable in learning new tools as needed.
• Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance (US)
• 401(k) plan (US)
• 4 weeks of paid time off
• Equity in a rapidly growing Series A company
• Generous policy for AI token usage
