This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• The Market Manager will oversee the implementation of the company's strategic initiatives both on and off-premise throughout the Western MA market.
• Responsible for the daily management of distributors, ensuring compliance with our brand policies, achieving distribution goals, and facilitating promotional activities.
• Training distributor sales personnel, monitoring competitive market actions, and assessing distributor performance against our initiatives.
• Supporting the District Manager as a direct report.
• Engage with key on-and off-premise accounts within the designated area to establish robust working relationships.
• Advocate for our brands to drive increased volume and assist distributors in meeting our objectives.
• Serve as the primary liaison for distributor sales teams, keeping them updated on local and national goals and initiatives while offering support for all sales-related tasks.
• Conduct product seminars at accounts and with distributor sales teams.
• Provide updates on National Account Mandate compliance as required.
• Remain informed about customer and consumer trends.
• Maintain a calendar of activities and promotions, ensuring effective communication with distributors and third-party agencies and managing promotional company activities. Execute brand training for staff.
• Deliver monthly market activity reports to the District Manager, outlining objectives, achievements, competitive activities, special projects, and any specific needs.
• Share market and competitive brand updates with the supervisor, including timely and accurate information about changing field conditions that could impact volumes and staffing changes at distributors and competitors.
• Review program and execution updates with distributor management.
• Provide feedback on the effectiveness of marketing and sales initiatives, including programs, POS materials, advertising, etc.
• Undertake special projects such as verifying pricing and distribution at on-and off-premise accounts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Marketing, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
• A minimum of five (5) years of work-related experience in the distilled spirits/wine supplier industry.
• Strong analytical skills, particularly in gathering data from diverse sources and presenting it in formats suitable for various audiences.
• Knowledge of sales and marketing principles, including strategies and tactics for promoting and selling products or services, product demonstrations, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
• Effective managerial skills and strong presentation abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• A valid Driver’s License is required.
