This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Formulates and implements the annual Territory Sales Plan for the Renewables sector.
• Mentors, nurtures, and guides team members responsible for pipeline management, client relations, and account responsibilities for both potential and existing clients (direct reports and seller/doers).
• Collaborates with their team of Market Leaders and Inside Sales to showcase, advocate for, and sell services and solutions pertinent to the Renewables sector to current and prospective clients.
• Actively engages with peer directors, the GM/VP, and shared services leadership to collaboratively design and implement forward-thinking LLS strategies, ensuring alignment across departments on future growth goals.
• Coordinates and conducts market assessments and analyses—developing and executing Lifeline Sector plans that consider external dynamics (industry, competition, client) while identifying necessary internal support (service, marketing, market communication, advertising, trade shows, SOQs, collateral, pricing, etc.) to achieve objectives.
• Advocates for a consultative methodology and leads with influence throughout the organization (Engineering/Operations, Strategic Growth & Marketing, Project Management) to present comprehensive, solutions-driven service offerings to our partners.
• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity to foresee industry changes and identify new opportunities.
• Collaborates with fellow leaders within the renewables business unit and shared services to execute market strategies and operational business plans.
• Leads with influence across the organization (Engineering/Operations, Strategic Growth & Marketing, Proposals, Project Management, Finance, HR, Legal) to pursue, propose, and secure business.
• Works together with Marketing and Communications to ensure that marketing and communication content and channels are fully leveraged.
• Collaborates with Strategic Growth and Insights teams to research and strategize Ulteig’s positioning in new and emerging markets.
• Safeguards and enhances Ulteig’s reputation, resume, and relationships (client and industry).
• Acts as the Client Lead for select, major clients.
• Sets, meets, and surpasses sales objectives and key business development metrics: pipeline, orders, Client Experience Index, and business development budget.
• In conjunction with the GM, the Market Director is ultimately responsible for the commercial negotiation of Master Service Agreements.
• Remains updated on industry trends and best practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in business development is required.
• At least five years of leadership experience with a proven track record in building adaptable, high-performing teams.
• Direct experience in the utility-scale Renewable (wind, solar, storage) sector.
• Proven success in business development through strategic planning and execution of account strategies.
• Strong facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of establishing lasting trust with strategic industry partners and internal colleagues.
• Exceptional ability to engage and collaborate with peer directors and executives to influence enterprise-wide, innovative initiatives.
• Demonstrates the capability to communicate, influence, and collaborate with individuals at all organizational levels.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% (typically 5 to 8 nights per month).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with current and prospective clients and internal colleagues.
• Established leadership reputation in the renewables sector with a thorough understanding of the complete project lifecycle, capable of anticipating and addressing the nuanced, consultative needs of diverse client types.
• Exhibits excellent facilitation, presentation, verbal/written communication, time management, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines by prioritizing work tasks effectively.
