This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.
• Evaluate a daily queue of system-generated political markets while adhering to a set completion deadline.
• Analyze candidate markets for factual correctness, clarity, authoritative resolution sources, and specified settlement dates.
• Confirm the timing of openings and closings, including any delays related to runoffs, recounts, and certification processes.
• Implement settlement conventions for election calls, concessions, recounts, certification, runoff triggers, ballot measures, legislative vote counts, and official corrections.
• Ensure alignment with community standards and content guidelines, escalating any ambiguous or sensitive cases.
• Approve, edit, or reject candidate submissions while documenting structured justifications.
• Revise questions and resolution language for accuracy and clarity.
• Produce timestamped clarifications and address settlement exceptions involving disputed results, recounts, and legal challenges.
• Keep an eye on live markets, campaign schedules, polling releases, and political and press social media to identify errors and unrecorded events.
• Engage in weekly calibration reviews.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in political trading or prediction markets, political data operations, political or data journalism, polling and election modeling, or a similar role requiring up-to-date subject-matter expertise.
• Proven current fluency in U.S. politics and elections at the federal, state, and significant local levels.
• Familiarity with political media and social media platforms related to politics.
• Solid understanding of official election administration and settlement conventions, including certification timelines, recount thresholds, runoff triggers, and relevant Electoral College mechanics, along with authoritative sources for results and vote counts.
• Demonstrated sound judgment regarding contested results, recounts, litigation, ballot curing, and ambiguous or delayed official calls.
• Capacity to swiftly interpret official sources and arrive at a defensible conclusion.
• Outstanding written precision under tight deadlines; skill in drafting clear and unambiguous rules.
• Comfort in applying a written policy framework and escalating politically sensitive or contested issues instead of making assumptions.
