This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Perform surveys and inspections onboard to ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and technical standards.
• Create detailed and comprehensive inspection reports and oversee the implementation of corrective actions.
• Serve as the main point of contact for vessel crews, owners, authorities, and regulatory agencies.
• Evaluate vessel structures, machinery, and safety systems, offering expert recommendations.
• Guarantee compliance with both international and local regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL, USCG, AMSA).
• Represent FMC International in a professional manner and consistently deliver top-quality service.
• Work collaboratively with technical teams and provide clients with guidance on repairs, maintenance, and best practices.
• Stay updated on changing regulations, industry standards, and advancements in maritime technologies.
• Assist with incident investigations, root-cause analyses, and the planning of corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and authorities to enhance FMC International’s reputation.
• Must possess a Chief Engineer's License or Master Mariner license, unlimited, issued by an accredited maritime authority.
• At least 15 years of maritime experience, including a minimum of 2 years in a role as Chief Engineer or Master Mariner.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international maritime regulations, including SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM, and ISPS codes.
• Familiarity with classification societies and flag state regulations.
• Previous experience in conducting technical inspections, surveys, or audits of vessels is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities, with a knack for collaborating effectively with onboard crew, regulatory agencies, and clients.
• Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities, with a keen focus on precision and detail in technical evaluations and reporting.
• Capability to execute physical inspections onboard, which may include climbing, confined space entry, and working in diverse environmental conditions.
• STCW endorsements, advanced maritime safety training, and other pertinent maritime certifications are advantageous.
