This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Spearhead and expand the Regis estate planning practice by establishing its technical standards, practice philosophy, and quality benchmarks.
• Build, lead, and mentor a distinguished team of estate planning strategists focused on ultra-high-net-worth clients.
• Act as the firm's highest technical authority in estate planning, engaging directly in complex client matters.
• Develop and execute sophisticated estate plans for Regis families with intricate, multi-generational wealth transfer strategies.
• Collaborate with senior wealth advisors, tax strategists, and Regis leadership to weave estate planning into clients' overall financial strategies.
• Cultivate and enhance relationships with a select group of Regis families, often managing portfolios exceeding $100 million.
• Work alongside clients’ external attorneys, CPAs, trustees, and family office consultants.
• Represent Regis in prospective client acquisition, industry conferences, and thought leadership endeavors.
• Partner with Regis leadership on practice growth, talent strategy, and operational enhancements.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Must hold a license to practice law in at least one state.
• Over 20 years of legal experience in estate planning.
• A majority of experience advising clients with assets of $50 million or more.
• Extensive experience with families possessing over $100 million in assets.
• Proven track record in building and leading high-performing estate planning teams.
• In-depth technical expertise in federal transfer tax law, trust and estate administration, and advanced wealth transfer planning.
• Capability to design and implement intricate multi-generational estate plans across various entities, jurisdictions, and family dynamics.
• Experience in advising on business succession, IPOs, M&A transactions, ESOP deals, and closely held business interests.
• Previous leadership role at an AmLaw 100/200 firm, a nationally recognized estate planning boutique, multi-family office, or a comparable private wealth platform.
• Comfort in operating within a regulated RIA framework and a team-oriented financial advisory setting.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
• LL.M. in Taxation or Estate Planning, ACTEC Fellowship, and AV Preeminent® rating are highly preferred.
