• Compose engaging fundraising and organizing emails.
• Writing reflects the voices and perspectives of our clients without requiring edits.
• Skillfully adjusts writing for various calls-to-action.
• Writing consistently applies effective theories of change.
• Collaborate with clients to edit, approve, and schedule emails.
• Solicits, accepts, processes, and incorporates feedback on copy from both senior team members and clients.
• Offers valuable and constructive feedback on copy to junior team members.
• Assists in enhancing the copywriting skills of junior team members.
• Code, produce, target, and test mass email communications.
• Ensure email code is complete and accurate, free of errors, and troubleshoot intermediate and complex code issues as needed.
• Adhere to internal testing processes; send email tests to team members for review and approval.
• Regularly volunteer to review and approve tests for others, often identifying and correcting errors before launch.
• Launch emails to targeted audiences without any mistakes.
• Utilize various CRMs to manage email programs (ActionKit, BSD, Action Network, NationBuilder, MailChimp, etc.).
• Achieve mastery in all CRM(s) utilized by their clients.
• Attain fluency in 1-2 additional CRMs.
• Train and mentor junior team members on new CRM systems.
• Analyze metrics and provide performance reports, best practices, and testing results back to clients.
• Compile metrics into cohesive, comprehensive, and well-structured reports.
• Analyze reports to derive strategic insights.
• Present reports, analyses, and strategic guidance to clients independently.
• Mentor and/or manage junior team members in preparing client reports.
• Prepare detailed monthly reports for clients.
• Independently create, present, and explain monthly reports to clients.
• Successfully coach junior team members through the process of generating monthly reports, providing constructive feedback.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day contact with clients.
• Maintain excellent communication with clients on a regular basis.
• Be highly responsive to client needs and requests.
• Anticipate and proactively respond to client needs.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions, team meetings, conference calls, etc.

• Propose innovative testing ideas.
• Conduct tests autonomously.
• Successfully complete tests; compile and present results.
• Ensure junior team members follow testing protocols.
• Assist junior team members with testing procedures and reporting.
• Create ActBlue fundraising pages and conduct tests.
• Build fundraising pages that align with client branding and digital fundraising best practices, independently.
• Regularly audit fundraising pages; collaborate with the product team to ensure fundraising page wrappers are up to date.
• Write copy for landing pages.
• Produce cohesive, suitable, and concise landing page copy without assistance.
• Contribute significantly to new client pitches.
• Provide relevant content for new client pitches; actively seek opportunities to contribute.
• Ensure content requires no editing or feedback.
• Directly oversee junior email team members.
• Assume a direct managerial role for at least one junior team member.
• Schedule and conduct regular check-ins with direct reports to discuss professional development, growth, and progress.
• Assist in setting employee goals, training, and development.
• Collaborate with direct reports to establish and achieve professional development goals.
• Support the training of junior employees and the onboarding of new hires.
• Manage the performance evaluation process with assistance.
• Conduct employee performance evaluations under supervision.
• Facilitate training sessions.
• Organize training sessions to educate new/junior team members and enhance team knowledge.
• Suggest training topics and oversee the development and delivery of corresponding training sessions.
• Provide feedback on programming and drafts.
• Offer constructive, thorough, and well-reasoned copy feedback and edits.
• Review email code for issues or discrepancies and recommend effective solutions.

• Collaborate with our product team to develop landing pages and templates.
• Work with the product team to produce on-brand landing pages and templates that adhere to digital best practices.
• Set up CRMs.
• Configure and/or transition to a new CRM instance for a client.
• Play a role in managing Middle Seat’s email team.
• Suggest enhancements to email team systems.
• Assist in streamlining email team processes.
• Contribute to the interview and recruitment process for new email team members.
• Help determine client and backup allocation as well as team member workloads.
• Over 4 years of relevant experience in email fundraising (or a similar field).
• Mastery of 3 or more common CRMs or fundraising platforms (ActionKit, ActBlue, Blue State Digital, ActionNetwork, NationBuilder, etc.).
• Ability to rapidly learn new tools and CRMs.
• Expertise in email writing specifically for fundraising purposes.
• Understands and effectively utilizes theories of change.
• Exceptional writing skills (diction, grammar, sentence structure, spelling).
• Capable of switching voice and tone according to client needs.
• Proficient in HTML and CSS as necessary to operate major email programs.
• Able to manage large clients independently.
• Creative writing abilities.
• Enthusiasm for data analysis and testing fundraising content.
• A desire to contribute to fundraising efforts for major political campaigns, nonprofits, and causes.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience in informal or formal management or mentorship is preferred.
• Interest in helping to manage a diverse and growing team of email specialists.
• Salary beginning between $90,000 and $100,000.
• Commensurate with years and depth of experience.
