Manager/Senior Manager – Clinical Site Budget Analytics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create, sustain, and improve clinical budget benchmarks at both country and site levels.

• Conduct analysis comparing Budget vs Actual, budget-to-budget, and forecast variance.

• Evaluate Cost Per Patient, fixed and variable site expenses, pass-through costs, and other significant cost elements.

• Execute outlier identification, assess data quality, and analyze benchmark reliability.

• Craft scenario analyses and sensitivity assessments regarding country/site strategy, enrollment expectations, protocol modifications, and study budget choices.

• Convert analytical results into opportunities for negotiation and budget optimization.

• Transform intricate clinical site budget information into clear, decision-oriented insights.

• Recognize cost drivers, trends, unusual variances, benchmark shifts, and financial risks.

• Generate recurring and one-off analytical views, providing data-driven recommendations.

• Design and sustain management dashboards, rate cards, and analytical reports.

• Prepare executive-ready PowerPoint presentations, visualizations, charts, and tables.

• Assist in the integration and management of clinical site budget data across various platforms, libraries, payment systems, and additional sources.

• Collaborate with Data Science, Digital Innovations, GTS, and technology teams on requirements, data structures, interfaces, controls, and outputs.

• Identify automation possibilities and support dashboards, real-time reporting, and analytical tools utilizing Power BI, advanced Excel, and other technologies.

• Partner with Clinical Operations, Investigator Contracts Management, Global R&D Sourcing, Data Management, Finance, and other stakeholders.

• Lead or participate in strategic projects that encompass benchmarking, FMV analysis, negotiation strategy, forecasting, process simplification, and enhancing operational efficiency.

• Discover and execute continuous improvement opportunities.

• Develop methodologies, guidelines, templates, and standard operating procedures.

• Provide training, coaching, and analytical support.

• Uphold governance through documentation of assumptions, methodologies, data sources, limitations, and conclusions.

• Oversee team priorities, workload planning, deliverable quality, and escalate issues when necessary.

• Mentor team members and assist in defining the long-term analytics and technology roadmap.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is required; MBA, Master’s degree, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related advanced education is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook; as well as Smartsheet, SharePoint, MS Teams, and Power BI.

• Proven experience in clinical site budgeting, clinical finance, benchmarking, investigator payments/grants, clinical operations, R&D finance, or a related pharmaceutical/biotech field.

• Strong analytical skills, with demonstrated experience in interpreting large or complex datasets and transforming data into actionable business insights and recommendations.

• Solid understanding of clinical trial operations, study start-up, site contracting/negotiation, and the key factors driving clinical site costs.

• Advanced skills in Excel and strong proficiency in PowerPoint.

• Experience in data visualization, dashboard creation, KPI/metric design, and management reporting.

• Proven ability to craft executive-level PowerPoint presentations that feature effective data storytelling, visual communication, and concise synthesis of intricate information.

• Capacity to evaluate data quality, analytical assumptions, benchmark reliability and limitations, and to communicate analytical confidence appropriately.

• Strong project management, prioritization, and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple initiatives and tight timelines.

• Excellent communication, influencing, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities; comfortable collaborating across global and cross-functional teams.

• Self-driven, detail-oriented, and adept at functioning in complex, fast-paced, and occasionally ambiguous environments.

• Travel: As Needed.

• Manager: typically requires 6+ years; Senior Manager: typically requires 8+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences, clinical operations, clinical finance, site budgeting, analytics, or related fields.
