Manager, User Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Oversees a small team of designers and/or researchers engaged in various projects or features.

• Establishes clear expectations for deliverables and offers regular feedback to team members.

• Develops work plans based on project needs and team capacity.

• Aids team members in enhancing their design and collaboration skills.

• Works collaboratively with product and engineering teams to align design efforts.

• Provides updates on team progress and upcoming deliverables.

• Collaborates with fellow designers to ensure design consistency.

• Appropriately manages team resources within project budgets.

• Adheres to established workflows and ensures the team correctly utilizes design system components.

• Reviews designs to guarantee quality and adherence to standards.

• Raises user experience issues during project planning discussions.

• Works with researchers to ensure insights are incorporated into design efforts.

• Monitors team progress against project milestones and identifies potential risks.

• Addresses team dynamics and fosters a positive collaborative environment.

• Engages in the hiring process and assists in onboarding new team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, Psychology, or a related discipline.

• Over 6 years of experience in UX design or research.

• 1-2+ years of experience in people management or significant leadership experience ready for management responsibilities.

• Proven track record of delivering high-quality UX work on projects.

• Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams.

• Familiarity with design systems and standard UX methodologies.

• History of supporting peer growth through mentoring or leadership roles.
