Manager, Technical Accounting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead Technical Accounting & Documentation: Conduct research, interpret, and document technical accounting conclusions in accordance with U.S. GAAP, including ASC 985-20, ASC 842, ASC 350, as well as debt, equity, and purchase accounting.

• Key Balance Sheet Areas: Take ownership of the accounting for leases, debt, intangibles, goodwill, equity, and internally developed software under ASC 985-20.

• Collaborate with product and development teams to ensure precise project tracking and capitalization.

• Cash Forecasting: Develop and sustain a bi-monthly cash forecast model for the CFO and senior finance leadership.

• Financial Reporting: Oversee the monthly financial statement package by gathering departmental commentary, finalizing reports, and preparing the cash flow statement.

• Cash Reconciliation Oversight: Generate a consolidated summary of all reconciled cash accounts, validating balances and ensuring completeness and accuracy across teams.

• NetSuite System Leadership: Act as NetSuite Admin for accounting responsibilities — managing user permissions, reviewing change management documentation, and ensuring adherence to ITGC controls.

• Continuous Improvement: Recognize and develop scalable processes. Provide solutions that are supported by authoritative guidance and sound accounting judgment.

⛳️ Requirements

• CPA certification is required.

• 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, incorporating a mix of public accounting and industry exposure.

• Extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the capability to interpret and apply guidance to new and complex issues.

• Experience in preparing technical accounting memos, cash flow statements, and/or complex consolidations.

• Practical experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is strongly preferred).

• Outstanding Excel and analytical skills.

• Strong communicator who excels in a collaborative, adaptable, and fast-paced environment.

• Naturally inquisitive and comfortable navigating ambiguity with sound logic and confidence.
