Manager – Solution Owner Skillset

📋 Description

• Responsible for defining and implementing solutions that generate business value and meet client requirements

• Links strategy to execution by converting business priorities into tangible outcomes, delivery plans, and technically viable solutions

• Collaborates closely with client stakeholders, delivery leaders, business analysts, and technical teams to design solutions, align priorities, and achieve successful results

• Independently manages the discovery and solution definition for products or workstreams of low to medium complexity

• Oversees backlog development and prioritization, transforms client needs into actionable roadmaps, and works closely with delivery teams to ensure solutions fulfill business objectives and user requirements

• Facilitates discussions with clients, guides design choices, establishes delivery and quality governance for their scope, and fosters alignment between business and technical teams

• Defines product scope and outcomes in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders

• Leads discovery for projects of low to medium complexity, clarifies objectives and success criteria, and transforms business needs into prioritized product scope

• Converts business goals into product strategy, roadmap, and backlog

• Conducts discovery to pinpoint pain points and opportunities, connects requirements to business value, defines solution approaches, and develops prioritized backlogs and roadmaps for low to medium complexity products

• Takes ownership of product outcomes by ensuring solutions yield the intended business value and meet established client needs

• Leads client discovery and requirements gathering (as needed), validates solutions against expected outcomes, and facilitates sprint reviews to confirm value realization

• Establishes product governance and quality practices to guarantee successful delivery

• Defines acceptance criteria, supports UAT practices, collaborates on quality standards (e.g., reviews, testing), and ensures product readiness for release

• Identifies product risks, dependencies, and gaps early; drives mitigation and escalation as necessary

• Manages RAID updates for their scope, identifies emerging risks to product outcomes, and formulates mitigation plans in partnership with delivery and technical teams

• Facilitates collaboration among business, technical, and product teams to shape solutions and promote alignment

• Leads cross-functional working sessions, clarifies dependencies, and ensures a shared understanding of product direction

• Manages product documentation and communication with stakeholders for the assigned scope

• Maintains product artifacts (roadmaps, backlogs, requirements), prepares materials for leadership reviews, and communicates product progress and outcomes

⛳️ Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience managing delivery activities for defined workstreams

• Proven experience leading discovery, backlog management, and roadmap development for low to medium complexity products

• Background in working with cross-functional teams (business, product, engineering) to deliver technology-enabled solutions

• Experience supporting the complete product lifecycle (discovery → delivery → validation of outcomes)
