Manager, Preconstruction

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee preconstruction activities for new data center projects, including expansions and retrofitting.

• Supervise the development of project budgets, cost models, rough-order-of-magnitude (ROM) estimates, and detailed take-offs.

• Create and sustain project schedules, milestone plans, and procurement timelines.

• Perform constructability reviews, value engineering evaluations, and risk assessments.

• Work in partnership with architects, engineers, and internal teams to clarify scopes, ensure design intent alignment, and address technical inquiries.

• Facilitate design review meetings to confirm accuracy, feasibility, and budget alignment.

• Identify and prequalify contractors, consultants, and vendors for forthcoming projects.

• Manage bid processes, which include issuing RFPs, evaluating proposals, and assisting in contract award recommendations.

• Take ownership of preconstruction cost planning, tracking, benchmarking, and ensuring estimating precision.

• Create concise, executive-ready reports, summaries, and recommendations for leadership.


⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or construction management, preferably with mission-critical, industrial, or large-scale commercial projects.

• Established proficiency in generating cost estimates, budgets, and schedules for intricate builds.

• Experience in managing design coordination, contractor prequalification, and competitive bidding processes.

• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, infrastructure, and ground-up construction methodologies.

• Proven capability to foster cross-functional alignment and manage multiple projects concurrently.
