This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +12 more states.
• Lead initiatives in platform engineering, encompassing CI/CD pipeline management, tools for developer enablement, and internal platform projects.
• Manage the integration and upkeep of Azure DevOps, SonarQube, and Snyk.
• Oversee cloud financial operations practices including budget planning, tracking cloud usage, enforcing tagging protocols, and suggesting savings strategies.
• Direct observability engineering through the execution of metrics, logging, and tracing implementations.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure and Cloud Operations to ensure compatibility with cloud-native patterns and platforms.
• Promote automation, Infrastructure as Code, and the adoption of GitOps methodologies.
• Generate reports and dashboards that enhance visibility into AWS usage and identify optimization opportunities.
• Mentor and guide platform engineers, DevOps engineers, and FinOps analysts.
• Define and implement a roadmap for platform modernization and cloud financial maturity.
• Support objectives related to compliance and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
• Interact with colleagues in a cooperative and respectful manner.
• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in platform engineering or DevOps roles is required.
• At least 2 years of experience in a leadership position is required.
• Proven experience in managing cloud expenditures and working with infrastructure or finance teams on cost optimization is required.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services, cost management tools, observability platforms, and practices for developer enablement is required.
• Certifications in AWS, FinOps, or DevOps toolchains are preferred.
• Capability to participate in, comply with, and support compliance program objectives.
