This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +5 more states.
• Oversee and direct a team of associates while assisting volunteer leaders in achieving organizational goals and objectives.
• Handle designated budgets, resource distribution, purchasing, expenses, and attainment of financial objectives.
• Supervise, mentor, assess, and nurture the professional growth of assigned staff.
• Enhance staff performance, productivity, and overall efficiency.
• Aid in operational planning, budgeting, procurement, and the distribution of supplies and equipment.
• Assist with recruitment, deployment, scheduling, work rotations, and ensuring well-being throughout the disaster cycle.
• Establish QCPC team goals, provide constructive feedback, and gather regular input from team members.
• Aid Volunteer Management in addressing personnel conflicts.
• Participate in Participation Status Committees as required.
• Direct the leadership lifecycle program, which includes recruiting, onboarding, and developing Greyshirt volunteer leaders.
• Support departmental needs during operational surges.
• Build and sustain relationships with donors, partners, and volunteers.
• Spearhead capacity-building initiatives, foster local relationship growth, manage disaster operations, and promote cross-functional collaboration.
• Organize and engage in training and simulations for disaster response teams.
• Coordinate disaster response operations, including the deployment of resources and personnel.
• Collaborate with volunteer organizations and partners to optimize resource utilization.
• Serve as an Agency Executive.
• Provide EOC support and coordinate disaster response efforts across relevant agencies as necessary.
• Report to TR’s Deputy Director of Operations (East Branch).
• 5-7 years of relevant professional experience in military, disaster response, emergency management, or first responder sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or a related discipline is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in personnel management, including recruiting, managing, training, and developing both employees and volunteers.
• Proficient in utilizing technology tools and remote work for effective communication and coordination with a vast network of TR staff, Greyshirts (volunteers), and external stakeholders.
• A strong history of successfully leading volunteers is highly desired.
• This position is remote and based in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee, or Ohio.
• Availability during evenings and weekends is required.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Willingness and ability to travel locally.
• Expected to undertake at least 25% non-local travel within the designated territory.
• Capability to support leadership meetings, video conferences, events, and operational activities.
