This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Oversee and direct the Michigan Policy Fellowship, tailoring and delivering exceptional learning experiences and programming.
• Guarantee a thorough and fair recruitment and selection process for fellows to create a diverse and high-quality cohort that aligns with Teach Plus MI objectives.
• Propel ongoing program enhancements by gathering and examining data on teacher experiences and effectiveness, providing actionable insights to the Executive Director.
• Ensure that fellows’ projects meet their intended outcomes by establishing and managing clear progress milestones.
• Identify significant policy issues and opportunities that align with the strategic objectives of Teach Plus MI.
• Mentor and assist teachers in impacting education policy and advocacy.
• Foster and sustain meaningful alumni engagement through leadership and advocacy opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with policymakers, district leaders, coalitions, and educational organizations.
• A minimum of 5–7 years of experience in education, policy, advocacy, or a related field.
• Classroom teaching experience is highly preferred.
• Experience in education policy, legislative advocacy, and systems change initiatives is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of Michigan’s college and career readiness policies, systems, and pathways.
• Proven ability to design, manage, and scale programs or initiatives that achieve measurable outcomes.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with teachers, policymakers, and coalition partners.
• Strong organizational abilities, capable of managing multiple priorities, leading cross-functional projects, and collaborating in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent Teach Plus persuasively to external audiences, including educators, policymakers, and funders.
• Proficient in adult learning, professional development design, facilitation, and/or coaching.
• Deep commitment to enhancing outcomes for students, especially those from historically marginalized backgrounds.
