This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide guidance on compliance issues associated with mortgage loan processing and origination.
• Ensure adherence to relevant state and federal laws and regulations, including RESPA, TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, FCRA, SAFE Act, UDAAP, and CFPB standards.
• Verify compliance of business marketing materials.
• Track regulatory changes and convert them into actionable advice.
• Evaluate mortgage advertising, marketing campaigns, social media, co-marketing agreements, consumer incentives, and promotional materials.
• Aid in compliance oversight of loan programs, which includes licensing, disclosures, compensation structures, and permissible activities.
• Identify compliance vulnerabilities and collaborate with business leaders to formulate corrective measures.
• Assist with regulatory audits, examinations, complaints, and compliance testing.
• Oversee corporate and individual licenses, registrations, exemptions, NMLS filings, and regulatory submissions.
• Facilitate the licensing and sponsorship of mortgage loan originators.
• Monitor MLO licensing, renewals, continuing education, sponsorships, and specific state requirements.
• Maintain licensing timelines and fulfill regulatory deadlines, reporting obligations, and renewals.
• Support expansion into new states by investigating licensing requirements and coordinating applications.
• Develop and uphold mortgage compliance policies and procedures.
• Provide compliance training and documentation to employees.
• Integrate compliance controls into new products, programs, marketing strategies, and operational processes.
• Assist with privacy, information security, AML/BSA, fair lending, and other mortgage compliance initiatives.
• Act as a subject matter expert on mortgage regulatory and licensing inquiries.
• Collaborate with legal counsel on regulatory issues, examinations, investigations, and complex compliance challenges.
• Support new business ventures and regulatory considerations.
• Coordinate efforts with Legal, People, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Sales teams.
• Candidates must reside in the U.S. to be eligible.
• Proven experience in obtaining, maintaining, and renewing state mortgage licenses across various jurisdictions.
• In-depth knowledge of state and federal residential mortgage consumer protection compliance laws, including RESPA and CFPB regulations.
• Experience in developing policies, procedures, compliance controls, and training for employees.
• Proficient in creating and delivering mortgage compliance training sessions.
• Strong capability to interpret regulations and provide clear, actionable guidance.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in residential mortgage compliance, including loan processing, loan origination, and/or loan underwriting.
• Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
