This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Lead and cultivate a team of technical trainers, offering coaching, performance management, workload prioritization, and professional development to guarantee consistent, high-quality training delivery throughout the organization.
• Design and execute the comprehensive technical training strategy that aligns with business objectives, service quality goals, and technician development needs, ensuring training programs effectively address skill gaps and bolster operational performance targets.
• Collaborate with operations leadership to identify training requirements based on performance data, service quality metrics, customer feedback, new equipment rollouts, and business expansion plans, transforming these insights into actionable training initiatives.
• Supervise curriculum development utilizing instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies, ensuring that training content is technically accurate and delivered through suitable modalities including classroom instruction, hands-on labs, e-learning, virtual sessions, and on-the-job coaching.
• Recognize opportunities for curriculum enhancement, delivery method improvements, or content reorganization based on evaluation data.
• Maintain extensive technical knowledge of material handling equipment systems, keeping abreast of manufacturer updates, emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements to ensure that training content reflects current best practices and technical standards.
• Work in partnership with HR, Safety, and Operations teams to integrate technical training with broader talent development initiatives, safety protocols, quality programs, and performance management processes.
• Develop and sustain training infrastructure, including learning management system administration, training documentation libraries, equipment and tool inventories, training facility management, and digital learning platforms.
• Provide strategic technical support for complex escalations, acting as a subject matter expert and resource for field technicians and leadership on challenging technical issues or customer situations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or necessary to support the training function and broader organizational objectives.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, education, business, or a related discipline is required; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
• 6-8 years of progressive experience in technical training, with a minimum of two years in a leadership or management role; experience with material handling equipment or related industrial equipment is strongly preferred.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience in coaching, developing, and managing technical training teams.
• Extensive technical knowledge of material handling systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems; ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues and interpret technical schematics.
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills.
• Proven expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, and adult learning principles with a demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective technical training programs.
• Experience in writing and/or maintaining documentation such as user manuals and reference guides.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems across various types of equipment.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding electrical and hydraulic system schematics.
• Project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to obtain MHE operator trainer certification.
