This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Lead the achievement of both team and individual fundraising goals by spearheading major giving strategies and overseeing a portfolio of high-net-worth donors in Major Gifts.
• Act as the fundraising lead by identifying, nurturing, and managing major gift prospects to meet the organization’s revenue objectives.
• Provide specialized consulting and strategic advice to ensure alignment with WVC's principles while enhancing communication with leaders and organizations in each market.
• Maintain a robust donor pipeline by facilitating timely movement through the fundraising cycle and ensuring consistent progress in gift discussions.
• Create and execute personalized donor strategies guided by data and insights, tailored to donor interests and giving potential.
• Establish and nurture meaningful donor relationships through impactful, customized engagement that fosters commitment and increases contributions.
• Ensure all stewardship initiatives and recognition plans accurately reflect the donor’s impact and adhere to organizational standards.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams including Operations, Product & Policy, and Legal to maintain consistent, mission-driven messaging for major donor audiences.
• Serve as the internal relationship manager for major donor files, facilitating cross-departmental input and ensuring a unified strategic approach.
• Partner with senior leadership, executives, and volunteers to enhance strategic donor engagement and philanthropic collaborations.
• Identify, assess, and cultivate new major giving prospects through data-driven research, networks, and strategic outreach efforts.
• Utilize donor intelligence and giving trends to customize engagement plans and optimize long-term revenue growth.
• Lead or assist in the planning and execution of donor cultivation and stewardship events that resonate with donor motivations and align with organizational priorities.
• Represent the organization at select high-profile donor engagements and external events to boost visibility and strengthen relationships.
• Monitor and assess fundraising performance, ensuring accurate tracking of donor interactions and effective use of CRM systems.
• Stay informed about best practices in philanthropy, fundraising regulations, and sector trends, sharing knowledge to foster continuous improvement across teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Business, Communications, Philanthropy, or Non-Profit Management.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in senior sales or fundraising positions, demonstrating a successful history in major gifts, client relationship management, or capital campaigns.
• Proven fundraising experience with a successful track record in major gift development from high-capacity individuals and foundations, or senior sales experience with a successful business development and client relationship management record.
• In-depth understanding of the donor relationship cycle, moves management principles, and major gift development strategies such as cultivation, stewardship, and planned giving, or equivalent business/sales development cycle knowledge.
• Strategic thinker with strong business development and prospecting abilities; comfortable working independently and collaboratively in both virtual and in-person settings.
• Exceptional communicator with strong presentation and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing, engaging, and inspiring donors and internal stakeholders, including in public forums.
• Results-oriented with a proactive, self-driven approach to achieving ambitious fundraising or sales targets.
• A passion for the mission and values of World Vision Canada, with a dedication to social impact; familiarity with international development is an asset.
• Comfortable operating in a Christian context and communicating with a diverse array of donors, encompassing faith-based, non-faith-based, and multicultural backgrounds.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and enhance team effectiveness without direct people management responsibilities.
• Demonstrated experience contributing to a high-performing team environment, including participating in one-on-one meetings and supporting peer development.
• Willingness to travel as necessary (25% travel required, both domestic and international).
• Proficient in utilizing CRM systems.
• Proficiency in French (both oral and written) is considered a valuable asset.
