This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Establish the evidence strategy and spearhead the creation of clinical and economic value evidence that enhances scientific communication and healthcare decision-making.
• Collaborate closely with Medical Affairs and Real-World Data Analytics to convert real-world data into persuasive, scientifically sound value narratives.
• Ensure that insights on hospital utilization are transformed into comprehensive economic models and evidence that support value-based care, hospital contracts, and healthcare system efficiency.
• Design and uphold economic models, including budget impact analyses (BIA) and cost-effectiveness analyses (CEA), throughout the surgical portfolio.
• Create frameworks that translate hospital utilization data into insights on total cost of care, efficiency, and product optimization.
• Provide the scientific basis for value-based agreements and hospital contracting through the generation of economic evidence.
• Determine the evidence generation strategy and identify significant clinical and economic evidence gaps in the U.S. surgical market.
• Oversee the design of retrospective real-world evidence (RWE) studies and direct analytic execution in collaboration with RWD analysts.
• Conduct literature reviews and meta-analyses to evaluate product performance against competitive technologies.
• Guide the development of peer-reviewed manuscripts, abstracts, and conference submissions (e.g., ISPOR, AORN, surgical congresses).
• Develop and maintain compliant scientific exchange tools (“Safe Harbor” materials) for Medical Science Liaisons and field teams.
• Lead Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) review processes to ensure all materials adhere to compliance standards.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs leadership, RWD analysts, and cross-functional teams to align evidence generation with strategic goals.
• Facilitate non-promotional engagements with payers, hospital administrators, and health systems.
• Influence stakeholders across Medical and Commercial divisions while preserving scientific independence.
• Bachelor's degree in Health Economics, Outcomes Research, Epidemiology, or a related field.
• Over 5 years of experience in HEOR within MedTech, Pharma, or consulting, ideally focusing on hospital-based products.
• Proven track record in developing economic models (BIA, CEA).
• Demonstrated experience in the development of scientific publications and effective evidence communication.
• Strong capability to interpret outputs from real-world data analyses (e.g., SQL, R, Python-supported workflows).
• Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
• Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with surgical or hospital-based product portfolios.
• Familiarity with U.S. healthcare economics, hospital cost accounting, and payer reimbursement (CMS, private payers).
• Experience supporting value-based care initiatives or hospital contracting strategies.
• Previous experience working in or alongside Medical Affairs organizations.
