This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.
• Regular travel to customer locations is required.
• Resolving issues related to users' technical skills, biochemistry/assay design, experimental design, software, and instruments.
• Assisting the commercial team and customers with their technical applications while delivering product training.
• Exhibiting professionalism, understanding, tact, fairness, and technical expertise in all interactions with customers.
• Offering strategic and competitive insights to the marketing and product development teams, and independently leading or managing beta tests at customer locations.
• Working autonomously on significant and unique challenges that necessitate collaboration with key decision-makers and senior management across the organization, potentially influencing future products, concepts, and technologies.
• Mentoring and guiding a team of Field Application Scientists.
• Traveling with team members to enhance their training and troubleshooting skills.
• Conducting regional team meetings to establish tactical frameworks that address regional needs.
• Supporting sales and marketing during pre and post-strategic sales activities that require both technical expertise and market knowledge.
• Collaborating with cross-functional leaders to enhance processes and scale the organization.
• Delivering training and workshops to customers, both in-person and remotely.
• Utilizing service CRM software to accurately identify and document customer opportunities.
• Partnering with internal teams to resolve customer issues and streamline processes.
• Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of experience, Master's degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 6+ years in NGS library construction (a combination of education and experience may be considered).
• Hands-on experience with cell culture and tissue handling is essential.
• Experience with NGS sequencing instruments and the setup of sequencing runs, as well as NGS sample and library preparation workflows, is preferred.
• Must possess a strong motivation and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication abilities and strong relationship-building skills are required.
• Highly collaborative and adaptable; must be able to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficient in nucleic acids and protein analytical methods.
• Experience with single-cell protocols and cell culture for multiomics workflows is beneficial.
• Ability to generate high-quality and reproducible wet-lab data from established protocols.
• Must be comfortable navigating technical project discussions.
• Capable of working independently as well as being a team player.
• Proven account management skills.
• Proficiency in English; knowledge of a second language is preferable.
