
Manager, Donor Engagement – Stewardship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Collaborate with the VP of Philanthropy to spearhead the development and ongoing enhancement of a comprehensive donor stewardship and recognition program across all segments of individual giving.
• Create and execute segmented donor journeys to ensure consistent and meaningful engagement throughout the entire donor lifecycle.
• Establish frameworks and standards for donor recognition, engagement, and fulfillment activities.
• Develop and manage the production of donor-facing stewardship materials, including impact reports, recognition pieces, and engagement communications.
• Design personalized and segment-specific donor experiences that fortify relationships and support retention efforts.
• Identify and spearhead opportunities to integrate donor storytelling, impact narratives, and campaign insights into engagement materials, such as annual reports, video scripts, and various multimedia content.
• Supervise the execution of stewardship and fulfillment deliverables for individual donors, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timeliness.
• Oversee the production and distribution of donor recognition assets and communications.
• Ensure that donor recognition activities align with segmentation and giving levels.
• Develop and present donor impact reports and stewardship summaries for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Collect, analyze, and synthesize donor data, campaign outcomes, and engagement metrics to assess effectiveness.
• Propose enhancements to stewardship strategies based on insights and feedback.
• Maintain systems and processes that track donor interactions, stewardship activities, and recognition deliverables.
• Ensure accurate documentation of donor engagement within CRM or other relevant systems.
• Develop and refine tools and platforms that facilitate donor engagement and stewardship.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., fundraising, communications, marketing, and operations) to ensure alignment across donor touchpoints.
• Act as a primary liaison to coordinate donor engagement efforts and guarantee a cohesive donor experience.
• Contribute to campaign planning and post-campaign evaluations, including insights and recommendations for future improvements.
• Annually develop, distribute, analyze, and report on the Donor Affinity Survey.
• A completed undergraduate degree or equivalent in marketing, fundraising management, public relations, or communications.
• At least 4 years of professional experience in development/fundraising for a nonprofit or charitable organization, or in a marketing management position.
• Proven ability to create programs related to donor stewardship and recognition.
• Demonstrated expertise in project development, project management, and issue management.
• Strong collaboration and multi-stakeholder engagement skills.
• Polished and confident verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to leverage data analytics and donor insights to inform engagement strategies, enhance personalization, and promote donor retention and growth.
• Strong technical skills, including familiarity with CMS (content management systems), databases (preferably Microsoft Dynamics), email programs (MailChimp and Customer Insights), file sharing platforms (e.g., Dropbox), and the ability to learn other web-based systems (e.g., analytical tools like Google Analytics and email analytics); knowledge of Adobe design software is an asset.
