📋 Description

• Guide and mentor a team of data scientists, offering technical support, career growth, and performance evaluation.

• Set technical standards and best practices for machine learning (ML) development, implementation, and monitoring.

• Define and steer the technical strategy for machine learning projects focused on threat detection and agentic AI for security purposes.

• Oversee ML projects from initial research to production implementation, ensuring successful outcomes and measurable results.

• Organize and prioritize team roadmaps, balancing innovative research with the delivery of operational ML systems.

• Keep abreast of the latest trends in ML and cybersecurity, assessing new technologies for potential adoption.

• Collaborate with security research, engineering, and product teams to ensure ML capabilities align with business goals.

• Partner with security domain specialists to pinpoint high-impact areas where ML can improve threat detection and response.

• Convey complex technical concepts and ML insights to stakeholders throughout the organization.

• Lead the development of advanced models for malware detection, behavioral threat analysis, and AI-driven security automation.

• Propel research initiatives that lead to publications, blog posts, patents, and other contributions to the ML and security communities.

• Engage in hands-on technical work as necessary, maintaining a deep understanding of ML systems and security applications.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM field, OR a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in data science and machine learning, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership or team lead role.

• Demonstrated success in managing ML projects from research through to production deployment.

• Strong grasp of cybersecurity concepts, the threat landscape, and security operations.

• Proficient in programming with Python and experienced with ML frameworks and big data technologies.

• Experience in mentoring and developing data scientists and ML engineers.

• Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

• Extensive knowledge in cybersecurity, including threat intelligence, malware analysis, or security operations experience.

• Familiarity with agentic AI systems, large language models (LLMs), or autonomous security automation.

• Experience handling very large, sparse, high-dimensional datasets in production settings.

• Knowledge of advanced ML techniques such as semi-supervised learning, online learning, and model optimization to decrease false positives.

• Strong understanding of ML operations, including model monitoring, A/B testing, and managing production ML infrastructure.

• Comfortable working with cloud environments (AWS) and Linux systems.

• Proven capability to establish a technical vision and promote innovation in ML systems.

• Experience in recruiting, developing, and scaling high-performing data science teams.

• Strategic mindset capable of balancing research exploration with practical business outcomes.

• Contributions to the ML or security fields through published research, patents, or other initiatives.
