Manager, Data Engineering and Integration

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of data engineering and integration solutions.

• Convert technology priorities and architectural direction into actionable team work plans, delivery timelines, and technical tasks.

• Enhance processes and practices to ensure the delivery of reliable, scalable, and efficient solutions.

• Make decisions regarding implementations within the boundaries of approved architecture and budget constraints.

• Confirm that solutions comply with governance, security, and regulatory standards.

• Implement and track processes that support data quality, lineage, metadata management, and operational efficiency.

• Detect and mitigate data, integration, and operational risks.

• Manage data engineers, integration developers, and analysts directly.

• Offer coaching, performance management, development planning, and everyday leadership.

• Evaluate resource needs and assign staff to projects and operational tasks.

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, application teams, and analytics departments.

• Provide technology leadership with insights on delivery methods, risks, dependencies, and areas for improvement.

• Monitor service levels, delivery performance, and operational metrics.

• Promote continuous improvement to boost reliability, efficiency, quality, and stakeholder satisfaction.

• Carry out other responsibilities as assigned or necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, systems integration, cloud platforms, or a related technology field.

• Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering complex data and integration solutions involving multiple stakeholders and systems.

• Familiarity with technology, security, and governance standards.

• Experience working collaboratively with business stakeholders, technology teams, vendors, and cross-functional partners.

• Proficient in modern data platforms and cloud technologies, including Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, or GCP.

• Strong understanding of data engineering, integration, APIs, pipelines, and cloud platforms.

• Knowledge of data governance, security, compliance, and risk management practices.

• Ability to analyze technical and operational challenges, recommend solutions, and make informed decisions within established standards and guidelines.

• Relevant technical or leadership certifications are preferred.

• Experience with Agile delivery, service management, or project planning is preferred.
