This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona, +4 more states.
• Lead all activities related to cost accounting, encompassing standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and reporting on the cost of goods sold (COGS).
• Supervise monthly, quarterly, and yearly closing processes tied to manufacturing costs.
• Ensure the precision of inventory accounting, which includes reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventory procedures.
• Examine manufacturing variances (labor, overhead, scrap, yield) and deliver actionable insights to business leaders.
• Assist in product costing, new product introductions (NPI), and continuous cost improvement initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to US GAAP, internal controls (SOX), and corporate accounting policies.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to enhance cost performance and operational efficiency.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to inform capacity decisions, capital investments, and process enhancements.
• Drive updates to standard costs and review cost assumptions with site leadership.
• Facilitate budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning activities.
• Identify and implement enhancements in cost accounting workflows and reporting.
• Maintain and improve ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) pertaining to cost accounting.
• Create reporting tools and dashboards to increase the transparency of manufacturing costs.
• Standardize processes across various sites where applicable.
• Manage, develop, and lead a team of cost accountants (typically consisting of 3–8 employees).
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years of experience; or equivalent experience.
