This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Take the lead on financial modeling, collaborating closely with business and finance teams.
• Facilitate the entire M&A transaction process, encompassing due diligence, valuation, business case development, deal execution, and preparation of legal documents.
• Oversee communications throughout the transaction process with both internal teams and external advisors, as well as sellers or targets.
• Create and manage a list of potential acquisition targets by engaging with business division leadership to comprehend strategic growth objectives.
• Assist in drafting Investment Memos for Cengage Group executives and the Board.
• Bachelor's degree, ideally in a field related to business or finance.
• 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, private equity, or corporate development/M&A.
• Previous experience in education, media, or technology sectors is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience in M&A due diligence and deal execution.
• Proficient financial and valuation modeling skills, along with a solid understanding of financial statements.
• Possess strategic and analytical thinking capabilities, strong project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and credibility throughout the organization while conveying analysis and proposals clearly.
• A self-motivated individual with keen attention to detail and a focus on results, who is also highly collaborative and capable of leading cross-functional teams.
