Manager, Climate Consulting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and supervise a team of climate consultants, ensuring exceptional service delivery and compliance with best practices in carbon accounting and sustainability consulting.

• Monitor team performance, offering mentorship, training, and professional growth opportunities to improve technical skills and consulting capabilities.

• Foster accountability within the team for administrative, operational, and project-related tasks.

• Collaborate closely with clients and partners to cultivate strong relationships, address risks, and resolve issues pertaining to carbon accounting, climate strategy, and compliance.

• Provide oversight and direction on sustainability reporting frameworks such as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP).

• Ensure appropriate resource allocation to fulfill contracted service obligations and enhance team utilization.

• Work in partnership with internal teams, including product, sales, and customer success, to align sustainability initiatives and services.

• Aid in the ongoing development and documentation of carbon accounting methodologies and best practices to standardize service delivery.

• Contribute to thought leadership in carbon accounting and climate strategy through external engagements and internal knowledge-sharing initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in environmental science, sustainability, business, finance, or a related discipline.

• 5 years of experience in climate consulting, sustainability services, and environmental management or similar fields.

• Preferred minimum of 2 years of direct people management experience, including supervisory roles over other supervisors and/or individual contributors.

• Practical experience with climate-related data analysis, carbon accounting methodologies, and ESG reporting platforms.

• Proven track record of leading teams in climate consulting, sustainability services, or corporate sustainability strategy.

• In-depth knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks, including GHG Protocol, SBTi, CSRD, PCAF, and CDP.

• Strong understanding of carbon emissions measurement, mitigation strategies, and regulatory compliance.

• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, capable of translating complex climate concepts into actionable insights.

• Ability to develop, train, and mentor climate consultants to enhance their skills and service delivery effectiveness.

• Self-driven leader with a strategic outlook, focused on operational enhancements and scaling climate consulting services.

• Familiarity with SaaS solutions in the sustainability sector and experience with climate-related technology platforms is a plus.

• Advanced technology skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and Google Workspace applications.

• Knowledge of SQL, Python, or data visualization tools is advantageous.
