This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.
• Overseeing a Claims Quality Assurance team and ensuring quality control in claim assessments in accordance with the TAL claims quality framework and risk management principles.
• Foster a culture of risk management and ongoing improvement by delivering risk-based detective controls and insights related to claim assessments.
• Manage Life Claims with an emphasis on customer service, precise policy assessment, cost management, and return-to-health outcomes through best-practice strategies.
• Address complaints and implement enhancements to improve service quality.
• Ensure compliance with TAL policies, legislative requirements, industry standards, and uphold a robust risk culture.
• Offer guidance on liability determinations, strategy approvals, and engage in case conferences for complex claims.
• Distribute daily tasks, track performance, manage resources, and utilize reporting to guarantee service delivery.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop Claims Consultants while promoting TAL’s risk culture and customer service excellence.
• A minimum of 3-5 years' experience in claims quality assurance within the Life Insurance sector or a related field in the Financial Services/Insurance industry (or similar).
• Proven understanding of life, trauma, Lump Sum (TPD), Disability, and Income Protection claims assessment and management requirements.
• Clear understanding of pertinent regulatory and legal obligations affecting Life Insurance claim assessments.
• Comprehensive knowledge of claims processes, regulations, and compliance, along with the ability to convert knowledge and experience into actionable recommendations that contribute value to the business.
