This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.
• Administer and oversee the organization's Power BI ecosystem, encompassing both Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server.
• Configure and enhance server settings, data gateways, and data source connections to ensure efficient data processing and distribution.
• Create and manage user accounts, groups, and roles within the Power BI infrastructure.
• Implement security protocols to regulate access to reports, datasets, and dashboards.
• Apply and enforce data governance best practices to uphold data quality, accuracy, and consistency across reports and dashboards.
• Collaborate with data owners to define data lineage, terminology, and documentation.
• Assist report developers in enhancing report performance, data modeling, and visualization design.
• Publish reports and dashboards to the appropriate workspaces, considering user access and utilization requirements.
• Monitor system health, performance, and usage trends to detect potential issues and bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot technical challenges, performance issues, and data refresh failures.
• Develop and sustain backup and disaster recovery strategies for Power BI reports, datasets, and configurations.
• Collaborate with business users, report creators, and stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical assistance.
• Conduct training sessions for users to encourage self-service reporting and data exploration.
• Stay informed about Power BI updates, new features, and enhancements.
• Document configurations, processes, and best practices within the Power BI environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Over 7 years of professional IT experience.
• More than 3 years of demonstrable experience as a Power BI Administrator or in a similar capacity with other BI technologies.
• Strong comprehension of Power BI Service, Power BI Report Server, and associated technologies.
• Extensive experience with PowerBI REST API and the orchestration of dataset scheduling and refresh.
• Proficient in managing user access, security, and data governance within Power BI.
• Experience with data modeling, transformation, and DAX.
• Familiarity with data integration, ETL processes, and data connectors.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Power BI Administrator) are advantageous.
• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills along with effective stakeholder management abilities.
• Strong analytical thinking and capacity to engage with stakeholders.
• Confident decision-making skills with the ability to articulate processes or choices as required.
• Capability to manage multiple projects across various phases.
• Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
