This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
β’ Oversee and enhance the incident management process throughout all AV operational locations, ensuring a uniform, high-quality response to incidents of varying severities.
β’ Facilitate and assist with regulatory incident reporting, including compliance with NHTSA Standing General Order requirements and relevant state-level reporting, guaranteeing accurate and prompt submissions.
β’ Create and uphold incident response standards, escalation frameworks, and operational protocols that align with May Mobility's safety case and risk management strategy.
β’ Design and manage a tiered incident response team structure that efficiently scales with fleet expansion, balancing full-time and contract personnel to ensure adequate coverage and quality.
β’ Act as the main contact for regulators, first responders, and partners during major incidents, coordinating responses and communications in collaboration with Legal and Safety leadership.
β’ Collaborate cross-functionally with Safety, Engineering, Legal, and Operations to ensure that incidents lead to systemic improvements rather than mere resolutions.
β’ Cultivate and guide the talent within the incident management team, establishing a clear career progression and ensuring the team possesses the skills and capacity to meet operational needs.
β’ Provide routine updates to senior leadership on incident trends, team performance, and emerging risks.
β’ A minimum of 7 years of experience in incident management, safety operations, or crisis management within the autonomous vehicle, aviation, rail, or similarly regulated sectors.
β’ Direct experience managing regulatory incident reporting to federal or state transportation authorities.
β’ Proven experience in designing and implementing escalation frameworks and on-call coverage models for 24/7 operations.
β’ A successful track record of collaboration across Safety, Engineering, Legal, and Operations functions at a senior level.
β’ Experience in building and leading compact, high-performing teams in a dynamic operational setting.
