Management Accountant / Financial Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and manage a continuous 13-week cash flow forecast.

• Oversee actual cash movements and forecasts, proactively identifying potential shortfalls before they escalate.

• Monitor customer payments, supplier disbursements, payroll, VAT, and other key cash transactions.

• Generate precise monthly management accounts, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and reconciliations.

• Ensure all balance sheet accounts are thoroughly reconciled and comprehensively understood.

• Evaluate monthly performance, pinpointing major variances and recommending corrective measures.

• Develop and sustain annual budgets along with ongoing financial forecasts.

• Deliver commercially oriented financial insights to empower the leadership team in making informed decisions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Prior experience in a Management Accountant, Financial Controller, or Commercial Finance position.

• Significant experience in producing monthly management accounts.

• Strong understanding of profit & loss, balance sheets, and cash flow principles.

• Proven experience in preparing and managing cash flow forecasts.

• Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets.

• Robust experience in reconciliation and financial control.

• Capability to analyze profitability, margins, and operational performance.

• Confidence in communicating financial information to senior stakeholders.

• Commercially aware and inherently curious.

• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail.
