This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Developing and implementing a detailed major gifts fundraising strategy across a designated multi-state area.
• Identifying, qualifying, nurturing, soliciting, and managing relationships with high-capacity donors and family foundations.
• Overseeing a portfolio of 75 donors while utilizing wealth analytics to discover and qualify new prospects.
• Building new relationships and enhancing the organization’s outreach to high-net-worth philanthropists.
• Maintaining an active schedule of moves management to prospect, qualify, nurture, solicit, and manage donor relationships.
• Collaborating with members of the Prospect Development team to request prospect research or tailored prospect lists.
• Working alongside other members of the nationwide Major Gifts team to brainstorm and develop donor strategies.
• Crafting persuasive major and principal gift proposals and completing grant applications as needed.
• Identifying Planned Giving prospects and coordinating strategies and approaches with the USO's Planned Giving team.
• Partnering with USO Area Directors and center operations staff within the region to ensure aligned messaging.
• Preparing and delivering oral and written reports.
• Performing additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Over 5 years of experience in individual, foundation, and corporate giving/sponsorship development roles.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience as a frontline fundraiser managing a portfolio of individual donors.
• Proven track record of directly soliciting and securing gifts of $25,000 or more.
• Relevant experience in a national or global organization is preferred.
• Experience with six-figure solicitations is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to be strategic, self-driven, and proactive in engaging new major gift prospects.
• Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Ability to deliver compelling calls-to-action to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of IRS guidelines for charitable contributions and Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability.
• Capacity to work collaboratively as a team player.
• Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to effectively engage with USO Leadership, the general public, and military audiences.
• Proven capability to exercise sound judgment in relation to controversial and/or culturally sensitive issues.
• Ability to manage a high volume of tasks with varying complexity and competing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency in using computers and electronic equipment.
• Working knowledge of various software, applications, and programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite and Raisers Edge or similar donor database software.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the necessary credentials to access USO Center locations and facilities, which may include security, credit and/or background screening, SOFA status, and a valid driver’s license.
• Must be a strong advocate for the USO's mission.
