Magento2 Tech Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the technical architecture and design choices for the platform.

• Develop and sustain Magento 2 functionalities, which include custom modules, API integrations, admin workflows, and enhancements to performance.

• Integrate with and expand upon Python-based microservices when necessary.

• Establish and uphold technical standards, code review protocols, and the quality expectations of the team.

• Perform code reviews concentrating on the quality of delivery.

• Provide support and mentorship to engineers within the team.

• Identify and address complex technical challenges.

• Design and manage integrations for Stripe, third-party medical and marketing platforms, and internal microservices.

• Actively identify issues related to reliability, performance, and developer experience.

• Collaborate with Product, QA, and DevOps teams to clarify requirements, validate solutions, and ensure smooth delivery.

• Convey technical progress, risks, and decisions to the Team Lead and stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of comprehensive software development experience.

• More than 3 years of practical experience with Magento 2.

• Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership capacity.

• Extensive experience in developing custom modules for Magento 2, API integrations, admin workflows, and performance considerations.

• Strong understanding of Magento 2 architecture, extension patterns, and best practices for scalability.

• High proficiency in PHP 8+, MySQL, and JavaScript/ES6+.

• Working knowledge of Python.

• Proven track record with third-party integrations, including payment systems like Stripe.

• Familiarity with Varnish, Redis, and CDN.

• Experience with cloud-based deployments and fundamental infrastructure concepts.

• Hands-on production experience.

• Background in product or service companies rather than pure outsourcing.

• Regular hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor.

• A strong sense of ownership.

• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate (B2) level or higher.

• Magento certification(s) are advantageous.

• Experience with AWS and cloud-based architecture is a plus.

• Familiarity with microservices or service-oriented architecture is beneficial.

• Experience in healthcare, telehealth, or regulated domains is a significant advantage but not mandatory.

• Experience with subscription or recurring billing processes is a plus.

• Previous experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers is a bonus.
