Machine Learning Researcher – Speech/Audio

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and develop cutting-edge voice synthesis models (e.g., TTS, voice cloning, speech-to-speech).

• Create and refine models utilizing frameworks such as PyTorch and HuggingFace.

• Design and implement training pipelines and datasets for scalable voice model development.

• Investigate methods for enhancing emotional expressiveness, multilingual synthesis, and speaker adaptation.

• Collaborate closely with product and creative teams to ensure models comply with quality and production standards.

• Keep abreast of academic and industry advancements in speech synthesis and related domains.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong foundation in machine learning and deep learning, particularly in speech/audio applications.

• Practical experience with TTS, voice cloning, or similar voice synthesis projects.

• Proficiency in Python and PyTorch; familiarity with libraries such as torchaudio, ESPnet, or equivalent.

• Experience in training models at scale and handling extensive audio datasets.

• Understanding of vocoders and transformer-based architectures.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to work independently in a remote-first setting.

• PhD in Computer Science/Machine Learning and publications in leading venues (Nice to Have).

• Contributions to open-source speech research or involvement in relevant benchmarks (Nice to Have).

• Knowledge of related areas such as lip-syncing, audio-driven animation, or expressive speech control (Nice to Have).

• Experience with voice datasets or proprietary processing pipelines (Nice to Have).
