This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• The Staff AI Researcher is tasked with creating cutting-edge artificial intelligence solutions that enhance health outcomes for millions of patients by equipping primary care physicians with technology aimed at maintaining patient health and preventing avoidable hospitalizations.
• This role involves collaboration with engineering and analytics teams to integrate AI technologies into current products and workflows.
• Furthermore, the position encompasses training, fine-tuning, and utilizing AI models by leveraging insights from extensive datasets of medical records, diagnoses, claims, and prescriptions collected from millions of patients nationwide.
• Key responsibilities include developing functional prototypes using both established and innovative AI methods to achieve higher levels of optimization for the organization;
• addressing large, intricate data sets and resolving challenging, atypical analytical issues to extract valuable information;
• reengineering existing pipelines and systems to accommodate increasing data and query demands;
• applying techniques for fine-tuning and adapting pre-trained generative models to specific healthcare applications or tasks;
• creating evaluation metrics and benchmarks to evaluate the quality and performance of AI/ML models;
• designing and executing feature engineering pipelines, which include data processing, feature extraction, and transformation to enhance model performance;
• establishing and maintaining standards for engineering processes, such as style and code reviews, test harnesses, and release packaging;
• and delivering functional proof-of-concept solutions that balance speed, scalability, and time-to-market considerations.
• A Master’s degree or a foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline is required, along with six (6) years of experience in machine learning and statistical analysis.
• The role also necessitates proven knowledge and experience in the following areas: three (3) years of deep learning and large language model expertise;
• three (3) years of experience with Python;
• three (3) years of skill in selecting appropriate tools for specific data optimization challenges;
• overcoming issues related to incomplete, unrepresentative, and mislabeled data;
• and experience with large-scale distributed systems and statistical software (e.g., Spark).
