Machine Learning Engineer Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and assess scalable deep learning algorithms that are crucial to our brain decoding projects.

• Work closely with data scientists to lead research in generative modeling and representation learning.

• Pinpoint inefficiencies in data processing pipelines and create effective solutions to enhance performance and reliability.

• Uphold high standards of code quality, organization, and automation throughout all initiatives.

• Modify machine learning and neural network algorithms to maximize performance across various computing environments, including distributed clusters and GPUs.

• Compose and refine academic papers, as well as communicate and disseminate findings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Degree and currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Physics, Math, Neuroscience, or another quantitative discipline.

• Over 1 year of experience in industry or research settings.

• Proficient programming skills in Python, with experience in developing machine learning algorithms or infrastructure using Python and PyTorch.

• Familiarity with deep learning techniques such as supervised, semi-supervised, self-supervised learning, and/or generative modeling.

• Strong scientific background with the ability to formulate and test innovative hypotheses through appropriate experiments, draw conclusions, and substantiate claims.

• Experience managing unstructured datasets, complemented by strong analytical skills.

• Competent project management and organizational abilities.

• Demonstrated capability to collaborate and support cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
