Machine Learning Engineer, Databricks

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee production pipelines on Databricks Jobs, linking tasks through depends_on and handling failure scenarios (ALL_SUCCESS / ALL_DONE).

• Set up and sustain deployments utilizing Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs), advancing through development → quality assurance → production environments, with resource/deployment files tailored for each country.

• Supervise the lifecycle of models and artifacts using MLflow and Unity Catalog (registration, versioning, Champion/Challenger aliases, rollback procedures).

• Ensure uninterrupted operations by managing compute resources across workspaces, standardizing cost-monitoring tags (FinOps), and integrating with AIOps/observability systems.

• Gain comprehensive knowledge of the product to troubleshoot runtime incidents and liaise with development teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in orchestrating data and ML pipelines on Databricks (Jobs, Workflows, cluster policies).

• Strong background in CI/CD (Azure DevOps, gitflow, pull requests), Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with DABs, and adherence to code quality standards (black, isort, mypy).

• Proficient in Python, SQL, and Delta / Unity Catalog.
