Loan Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Oversees all standard collection practices in alignment with Planet Home Lending's policies to reduce loan delinquencies.

• Aids mortgagors in bringing their loans up to date through inbound and outbound calls, along with established skip tracing techniques.

• Arranges payment plans for the total outstanding balance or sets up a repayment plan in accordance with Agency/Investor Guidelines and Planet Home Lending policies.

• Record and keep an online collection history that details actions taken to update the loan status.

• Assess all mortgagors who lack the capacity to rectify their loan status and refer them to the Mitigation Department.

• Fulfill performance benchmarks for each daily loan assignment, maintain high-quality call standards, and achieve daily call objectives.

• Stay current with investor rules and requirements and ensure compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification

• At least one year of experience in collections or a related field

• Experience in mortgage collections is advantageous

• Possess courteous, tactful, and assertive interpersonal abilities

• Exhibit strong listening skills

• Proficient in data entry

• Strong analytical and negotiation capabilities

• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and maintain a results-driven focus

• Competence in researching and resolving issues efficiently
