This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Conduct up to 25 visits to farms or facilities weekly to evaluate feeding programs and propose Purina-endorsed solutions.
• Network within the livestock and lifestyle animal sectors to exchange best practices and generate new business opportunities.
• Support sales and enhance market share by introducing innovative feed products and programs to both new and existing clients.
• Oversee and expand an existing client portfolio from day one, leveraging established customer relationships and immediate sales prospects.
• Cultivate and sustain strong connections with dealer/co-op teams and Purina specialists to assist partners in achieving their goals.
• Develop a deep understanding of Purina’s research, innovation, and sustainability initiatives to provide value in every customer interaction.
• Organize and facilitate educational events and on-site demonstrations to boost brand recognition, dealer traffic, and customer loyalty.
• Function independently in a flexible, remote working environment, managing territory, schedule, and customer relationships with supported guidance from a supervisor.
• Coordinate and implement product strategy, marketing initiatives, product launches, and field events alongside cross-functional teams.
• Engage in team meetings and sales training, execute sales strategies, and collaborate with colleagues for ongoing improvement.
• Utilize CRM systems such as Salesforce and technology tools like Power BI to document activities and guide business decisions.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science or a related field is highly preferred, with a graduation date of winter 2026 or spring 2027.
• Candidates nearing completion of their bachelor’s degree or those with demonstrated sales and industry experience may be considered.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong passion for livestock care and agricultural products.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities; capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in customer service or sales support roles.
• Willingness to travel 5-10% overnight alongside daily travel within the assigned geography.
• Successful completion of the Land O’Lakes summer internship program.
• Display agility, integrity, and professionalism while adapting to evolving market conditions and navigating a matrix-reporting structure.
• Demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational capabilities, and effective time management.
• Exhibit high internal motivation, relationship-building skills, and leadership in team settings.
• Conduct multiple sales calls daily to customers and prospects.
• Engage in on-farm interactions, including animal evaluations, in various weather conditions.
• Build a network within the industry to connect producers and foster business relationships.
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
