
Litigation Specialist – Western or Central PA

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.
• Utilizes independent judgment and discretion in managing or directing litigated claims.
• Performs investigations, assesses, and provides recommendations concerning coverage, liability, and strategies for resolution.
• Selects, engages, and collaborates with defense attorneys in the management of lawsuits.
• Oversees litigation costs and ensures compliance of defense counsel with ERIE's billing standards.
• Ensures adherence to and guides defense counsel in the application of Outside Counsel Guidelines.
• Provides training and mentorship.
• Maintains comprehensive documentation of claim files.
• Bachelor’s degree with six years of experience in litigation claims or legal experience, or equivalent, is required; or
• An associate degree or paralegal certification with eight years of experience in litigation claims or legal experience is required;
• A high school diploma or GED with ten years of experience in litigation claims or legal experience is required.
• In-depth knowledge of claims handling is essential.
• Strong understanding of tort law and insurance coverage is necessary.
• Preferred designations include Associate in Claims (AIC) or Senior Claim's Law Associate (SCLA).
• Appropriate state-required license is necessary.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
