Litigation Paralegal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Become a part of Messner Reeves LLP’s dynamic litigation team in California.

• Collaborate with firm partners, associates, and clients.

• Engage with the team, witnesses, and opposing counsel to swiftly gather and organize comprehensive information.

• Manage multiple attorneys with full workloads.

• Digitally organize and index medical records.

• Draft detailed documents and maintain party record chronologies.

• Identify and procure any missing records or materials.

• Prepare legal documents, including initiating and responding to discovery requests.

• Create initial, expert, and supplemental disclosures.

• Monitor and log time using Prolaw or comparable legal billing software.

• Utilize communication skills, experience, docketed deadlines, and civil procedure rules to inform litigation activities.

• Anticipate needs in litigation cases leading up to jury trials.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of paralegal experience.

• Proficient in federal and state court procedures.

• Demonstrated experience managing multiple attorneys with full caseloads.

• Strong preference for experience with medical records and terminology.

• Background in legal document preparation, especially in initiating and responding to discovery.

• Experience in preparing initial, expert, and supplemental disclosures.

• Familiarity with tracking and recording time using Prolaw or similar legal billing software.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Highly organized individual.

• Strong communication skills.

• Good judgment and exceptional professionalism.

• Experienced, curious, and self-motivated.

• Possession of a Paralegal Certificate.

• Must reside in California.
