Litigation Attorney

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Oversee civil litigation for American Family and our insured clients, adhering to established protocols and maintaining the highest ethical standards.

• Assess case files as litigation unfolds and evaluate potential risks to the organization.

• Analyze cases and pursue settlements when necessary.

• Prepare all essential pleadings, documents, and briefs to further litigation efforts.

• Perform necessary research to support drafting tasks.

• Advocate for the client's position across all forums.

• Negotiate effectively to resolve all matters at hand.

• Stay informed about state statutes and court rulings, analyzing their impact on various policy provisions.

• May cultivate specific areas of specialized practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions, support, or services.

• Proven experience in drafting civil pleadings, motions, and discovery, as well as deposing witnesses.

• Demonstrable litigation experience.

• Strong understanding of the rules of Professional Responsibility relevant to the jurisdiction of practice.

• Comprehensive knowledge of tort, contract, and insurance laws.

• Licensed to practice in the IL state bar.

• Juris Doctor degree required.
