Litigated Account Specialist I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Wisconsin.

📋 Description

• Manages litigated accounts that have been verified by team members by reaching out to attorneys representing patients through phone, email, mail, and fax; gathering demographic, insurance, and other pertinent information; documenting appropriately in internal technology systems; and taking further actions as specified in departmental processes and procedures.

• Adheres to departmental processes and procedures with a strong emphasis on compliance with industry laws and regulations.

• Actively listens to callers, confirming or clarifying details and calming upset callers when necessary.

• Utilizes internal technology platforms and various web-based tools to investigate and address questions or concerns from attorneys or patients.

• Resolves troubled accounts and directs patients and attorneys or accounts to other departments as needed.

• Informs patients and attorneys about the healthcare revenue cycle and repayment programs or incentives to enhance their financial well-being.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 9 months of experience in the collections, legal, or insurance sectors is required.

• At least 1 year of experience in exercising judgment to make informed decisions and resolve issues is preferred.

• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

• Capability to work independently and achieve performance targets.

• Prior experience in collections or customer service is preferred.
