Literacy Intervention Tutor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Provide one-on-one tutoring for elementary school students in reading using Reading Partners’ structured, evidence-based curriculum.

• Conduct online tutoring sessions via video conferencing.

• Monitor and track student progress utilizing Reading Partners tools.

• Engage in regular check-ins with a member of the Reading Partners team.

• Support the Reading Partners Program Coordinator with administrative tasks.

• Carry out administrative responsibilities as required.

• Participate in Reading Partners orientation and training sessions.

• Commit to a consistent tutoring schedule from Monday to Thursday, between 8 am and 5 pm.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be eligible for Federal Work Study.

• No prior tutoring experience is necessary.

• Must have consistent availability from Monday to Thursday between 8 am and 5 pm.

• Demonstrate patience and empathy towards students while maintaining high expectations.

• Show willingness and enthusiasm to learn and receive coaching.

• Have an interest in effectively interacting with diverse student populations.

• Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.

• Reside within North Texas, Detroit, Washington DC, Newark, New York, or South Carolina.

• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi.

• Must have access to a PC, Mac, or Chromebook equipped with a functioning webcam, microphone, and headphones with a microphone.

• Agree to adhere to the Tutor Code of Conduct.

• Complete a Live Scan background check.

• Attend Reading Partners orientation and training.

• Be aware that online tutoring sessions will be recorded for student support and safety purposes.
