This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Spearhead the design, development, and upkeep of Linux kernel components for our products and services at CIQ.
β’ Partner with cross-functional teams to collect requirements and convert them into efficient and scalable kernel designs.
β’ Produce high-quality, modular, and well-documented code in C and other pertinent languages, following coding standards and best practices.
β’ Create and sustain kernel-specific testing and automation tools to enhance our kernel building, testing, and release processes.
β’ Troubleshoot and resolve complex kernel-level challenges, including memory management, process scheduling, and inter-process communication.
β’ Collaborate with hardware engineers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of kernel components with hardware platforms.
β’ Keep abreast of the latest developments in the Linux kernel community and associated technologies, assessing their potential impact on our offerings.
β’ Evaluate code submissions from team members and offer constructive feedback to uphold code quality and consistency.
β’ Conduct performance analysis and optimization of kernel components to achieve specified performance objectives.
β’ Document design choices, APIs, and processes for future reference and knowledge dissemination.
β’ Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting their professional growth and development.
β’ A strong passion for Linux and open source software, combined with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable products.
β’ Expertise in C programming and a thorough understanding of low-level system programming principles.
β’ Robust debugging and troubleshooting capabilities to identify and resolve intricate kernel-level issues.
β’ Comprehensive knowledge of Linux kernel internals, file systems, device drivers, and kernel module development.
β’ Familiarity with hardware platforms and architectures, including x86 and ARM, and their interactions with the Linux kernel.
β’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to propose innovative solutions to technical challenges.
β’ Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities for effective teamwork.
β’ Self-driven and capable of working independently, managing priorities, and meeting project deadlines.
