Linux Kernel Development Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Spearhead the design, development, and upkeep of Linux kernel components for our products and services at CIQ.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to collect requirements and convert them into efficient and scalable kernel designs.

• Produce high-quality, modular, and well-documented code in C and other pertinent languages, following coding standards and best practices.

• Create and sustain kernel-specific testing and automation tools to enhance our kernel building, testing, and release processes.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex kernel-level challenges, including memory management, process scheduling, and inter-process communication.

• Collaborate with hardware engineers and other stakeholders to ensure smooth integration of kernel components with hardware platforms.

• Keep abreast of the latest developments in the Linux kernel community and associated technologies, assessing their potential impact on our offerings.

• Evaluate code submissions from team members and offer constructive feedback to uphold code quality and consistency.

• Conduct performance analysis and optimization of kernel components to achieve specified performance objectives.

• Document design choices, APIs, and processes for future reference and knowledge dissemination.

• Mentor and guide junior developers, promoting their professional growth and development.

• Familiarity with hardware platforms and architectures, including x86 and ARM, and their interactions with the Linux kernel.
