Linguist – Finnish

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Finland.

📋 Description

• Translate and transcreate content between English and Finnish while maintaining cultural relevance, clinical precision, and brand identity.

• Edit and enhance language content to ensure accuracy, appropriate tone, and contextual significance across digital platforms.

• Implement current language standards, usage trends, and industry-specific terminology (including EU MDR standards) in all deliverables.

• Assess and provide structured feedback to enhance the quality of language models.

• Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to tailor content specifically for the Finnish-speaking audience.

• Assist in content development, localization, and quality assurance for digital tools and web applications.

• When transcreation is required, adapt the text creatively beyond the original to ensure it reads naturally, warmly, and persuasively in Finnish.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native or fluent in Finnish (both reading and writing).

• A University Degree in Linguistics/Translation, or a medical/scientific certification.

• Proven experience in translation, localization, and transcreation. Please include details of projects and clients related to audiology (hearing aids, audiometry, EU MDR terminology) and/or medical-related B2C marketing.

• Availability to dedicate a minimum of 5 hours each week to translation tasks.

• Native-level proficiency in Finnish.

• A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR

• A graduate qualification in another field (such as life sciences, biomedical engineering, or marketing) along with 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR

• 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.

• Ability to follow terminology glossaries, brand voice guidelines, and reference materials accurately within our online platform.
